Town Council

Connecting and Uniting the Amannachi community.

Amannachi Town Union Lagos Branch is a registered community association formed to unite indigenes of Amannachi residing in Lagos. Established in 1976 and incorporated in 2022, the union promotes unity, cultural heritage, member welfare, and community development.

The Purpose of The Union

The Amannachi Town Union meeting has many purposes. It provides members the opportunity to regularly meet as a group, learn about the union, exchange ideas, meet the leaders and fellow members, debate and make decisions, air gripes and argue, make proposals and have input. Updates on events, socialize etc.

Yet, the most common refrain that is heard is “Amannachi Ofu Obi, Amannachi ihe Anyi Kwuru Kanyi Na-eme?” The regularly scheduled meeting establishes that the union as an organization exists and has structure. And, as with any democracy, it allows the members to attend and participate or not to attend.
